Vaccination Policy
Based on all available literature, evidence and current studies vaccines have been proven to prevent serious illness and death. All children and young adults should receive all of the recommended vaccines according to the schedule published by the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics unless there is a medical contraindication.
Vaccinating children and young adults is the single most important health promoting intervention we perform as health care providers, and that you can perform as parents or caregivers.
Vaccinating on schedule with currently available vaccines is the safest thing to do for all children and young adults. Anything different is dangerous and puts our patients at unnecessary risk.
It is for this reason that we have a strict vaccination policy at our practice. If you do not intend to follow the current vaccine schedule, we will ask you to find another health care provider.

We accept most insurance plans but We would encourage you to check with your insurance specifically to make sure we are contracted with your plan and your visit and treatment are covered. It is important for you to know your insurance is accepted by BigBend Pediatric Care prior to your visit. We are happy to assist you with the prompt payment of your bill, however, medical care and how it is covered by your insurance is ultimately your responsibility. It is your responsibility to settle your account in full for the medical care and treatment your family receives from BigBend Pediatric Care. Thank you for your attention to these matters! Office Policies and Procedures
WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHECKS AT THE OFFICE!
However, for your convenience we have the ability to accept a check online or you can pay your bill with Visa or MasterCard with our online payment area as well.
Account Billing
We are more than happy to bill both your primary and secondary insurance carriers provided they are contracted with us to do so. But ultimately you are financially responsible for any outstanding balances after insurance payments.
Co-Pays
We are required to collect all co-pays at the time of service and, by law, are unable to write-off a co-pay.
Insurance Cards
Please bring your most current insurance card at the time of service as this information needs to be updated to provide you with the most efficient billing service. Your current insurance card will indicate your co-pay, if any. We accept most major insurance companies. Unfortunately, we do not accept any HMO's or out of state Medicaid.
